See the transformation of the WaterFire Arts Center from the photographer’s perspective.

Architectural photographer Elaine Fredrick will present her project of documenting the rehabilitation of a former industrial facility into an innovative multi-purpose arts center.

Built in 1929 along the Woonasquatucket River for the US Rubber Company, the vacant building was purchased by WaterFire in 2012. Renovations were completed in May 2017, giving WaterFire Providence a permanent home for all operations, from offices to workshops. The contemporary Arts Center is also a venue for large-scale events and performances, presentations, conferences, and exhibits.

As a member of the WaterFire Volunteer Photography Group with an interest in adaptive reuse projects, this project captures two of Elaine’s personal passions.

In addition to the presentation, attendees will enjoy a delicious lunch hosted at the WaterFire Arts Center Visitor Center!
