Applications open for next DFWD sessions

This fall, DESIGN FORWARD RI (DFWD) continues with two new Advance and Emerge cohorts. DESIGNxRI will convene designers for these intensive strategic skills development with leaders from design and business.

DFWD is a comprehensive strategy to strengthen and support the design sector skills and talent pipeline and career trajectories in Rhode Island. The Advance, Emerge and Explore programs are relevant for designers at different stages of their career and helps enhance their strategic skills, build professional networks, and move their performance forward. These cohort experiences have created a dynamic learning environment for designers and support design employers goals to invest in this talent locally.

Starting in September, two cohorts nominated and/or approved by Rhode Island employers take a deep-dive into concepts which reinforce their critical thinking skills and application in the business of design. Sessions include Design Thinking for Innovation, Communication & Presentation, User Experience, Business Acumen and Strategic Facilitation. The curriculum is created with an advisory team of locally-based, national design and business leaders.
