Workshop/Hackathon: Envisioning a product solution leveraging generative AI technology

We are planning to offer a product design workshop in collaboration with IXDA and Design Museum Everywhere. A hackathon-type innovation workshop is FREE for folks that sign up.

Bringing together a diverse group of participants from various industries and backgrounds, all driven by a common goal: to foster creativity, inspire new ideas, and fuel innovation as part of the DESIGNxRI DESIGN WEEK events.

Participants learned about the key elements of an innovation mindset, such as curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to take risks. They were encouraged to challenge assumptions, question the status quo, and embrace failure as an opportunity for growth.

We will introduce participants to the principles of Loft’s human-centered design approach. Through interactive exercises and case studies, participants learned how to empathize with end-users, define problem statements, generate ideas, prototype solutions, and gather feedback.

The teams will focus on techniques and tools for generating and refining innovative ideas. Participants engaged in brainstorming exercises, both individually and in groups, leveraging various ideation techniques and exploring diverse perspectives, encouraging a broad spectrum of ideas.

Participants will then be introduced to the concept of rapid prototyping, using low-fidelity methods such as sketches, storyboards, and role-playing. They learned how to quickly iterate and refine their ideas based on feedback and user validation. This session emphasized the importance of early-stage testing to ensure that ideas align with user needs and expectations.

Overall, the Innovation Workshop provided a transformative experience for participants, equipping them with the necessary mindset, tools, and techniques to foster innovation within their organizations. Armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, participants left the workshop with a renewed passion for creative problem-solving and a commitment to driving innovation in their respective domains.
