Audio Geography

Spring Catalyst 2024
LATHE RECORD DESIGN
Audio Geography is a vinyl record and cassette tape production service that helps independent musicians and artists who want to make physical media by producing affordable small run orders and offering unique custom options. Traditional record pressing requires high minimum orders and longer wait times, while Audio Geography has no minimum order, and faster production times. The direct lathe cut method I use allows for economical and expedient production of small orders of records. Newer artists, hobbyists, and gift givers alike are happy to find Audio Geography to make their physical media dreams come true for snazzy merch table items, one of a kind collectibles, or unique gifts for their record-loving sweethearts.

Ayumiya defines her work as non functional, functional art (objects). There are no limits to specific materials but rather a focused commitment to listening to each one, deriving- never prescribing- the process. The aim is always to push the materials’ boundaries, while respecting their natural abilities. Ayumiya was founded by sisters who share a lifelong creative bond. Their work is sustained by a celebration of individual stories and differences.

BIG NAZO LAB is an international touring troupe and creature-making studio. They have spawned a steady flow of strange and unusual foam-fabricated creature characters that push the boundaries of puppet, mask, and costume design. Their unique brand of audience interactive improvisation combines diverse and seemingly unconnected visual elements to create spectacular “happenings” that manifest as stage shows, street parades, and creature dance parties through the US and overseas. The New NAZO LAB global headquarters currently under construction in Providence’s West End neighborhood will soon host workshops, internships, and creative collaborations with local student and community organizations.
