A Map for a Cat: Reimagining cartography through the eyes of animals

How can a map look any other way? Isn’t that just how the world looks like? When we design anything, we try to anticipate how our creations are going to get used by other people and we make assumptions about who our audience is. Join a real, live cartographer in a map making activity that will make you rethink how you see the world.
Meet the speaker

Andrew Middleton
Andrew Middleton is a published cartographer, educator, GIS consultant and owner of The Map Center, New England’s oldest map store. His business was featured in the Boston Globe in 2025 and he’s been recognized by the Rhode Island House of Representatives for creating a hub of curiosity and love for geography.
