- Rhode Island Minorities in...
Rhode Island Minorities in Architecture & Design (RIMiAD) is an organization that fosters connections between individuals from underrepresented groups within the architecture, design, and allied fields.
RIMiAD fosters connections amongst individuals from underrepresented groups within the architecture, design, and allied fields across Rhode Island. DESIGNxRI serves as RIMiAD’s fiscal sponsor, supporting the growth of networks and expansion or organizational reach across the state.
A core part of RIMiAD’s mission is to promote diversity in the workplace by providing support to current professionals and inspiring students of all backgrounds to pursue architecture and design fields. This program is run by a dedicated volunteer committee, which advances RIMiAD’s objectives through networking events and the development of shared community resources.
RIMiAD hosts meetups every other month, bringing together professionals and college students at minority-owned businesses throughout Rhode Island. In January 2024, RIMiAD launched the inaugural RIMiAD Mentorship Program, further strengthening the network and creating lasting opportunities for connection and professional growth.
