Beyond the Brief: Mapping the Design Process from Concept to Completion

Join us for a session on the cognitive process behind visual design, moving past the final export and diving into the non-linear journey of design thinking. Whether you’re a seasoned creative or a curious problem-solver, this session will explore how our team at Brown approaches a new project.
Understanding that design is a service, we will explore how to translate a partner’s goals into concrete designs. We will discuss the process of moodboarding to concepting, and the iterative review process within a larger organization. Influenced by the use of AI, we will show how to solve problems, defend your creative decisions and collaborate with the client to execute design solutions together.
Fee: Free! Pay what you wish. Any donation you make supports DESIGNxRI in organizing and executing DESIGN WEEK RI as well as any programs and events throughout the year.
Parking: There is visitor parking (Power Street Parking Garage) a little under a half mile away, as well as street parking in the area.
